Camomile tea with apple juice & sugar

Recipe:

1 bag of camomile tea

215ml hot water

15ml apple juice.

1g sugar

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add apple juice.

Taste: Tender apple juice with hints of sugar.

Smell: Lovely apple juice.

Colour: Bright amber, cloudy.

Additional notes: added 15mg of apple juice based on my experience to make sure that it does not overlap camomile tea flavour too much.

I tried this brew by adding 2g of sugar at the beginning and concluded that it is too sweet. I could not find camomile flavour either and the apple taste was too weak.

So, I reduced the sugar quantity to 1g and this time tea tasted more neutral, still I could not taste the camomile tea flavour and the apple flavour was pretty weak as well.

Camomile tea with balsamic vinegar & sugar

Recipe:

2 bags of camomile tea

229ml hot water

1ml balsamic vinegar.

2g sugar

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add balsamic vinegar.

Taste: Strong balsamic vinegar with hints of camomile tea.

Colour: Dark amber.

Smell: Gentle balsamic vinegar and sugar with hints of camomile.

Additional notes: This brew was not an enjoyable drink. I tried several times to tune in the desired flavour starting with 5ml of balsamic vinegar and going down gradually to 1ml and using one tea bag per portion. Nothing worked out and I added 2 tea bags per brew and it still was the wrong outcome. My conclusion was that balsamic vinegar, sugar and camomile tea were not a good match, however, it was drinkable tea.

Camomile tea with freshly squeezed cloudy lemonade

Recipe:

1 bag of camomile tea

220ml hot water

10ml freshly squeezed cloudy lemonade.

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add freshly squeezed cloudy lemonade.

Taste: Tender lemon and camomile flavours with citrussy aftertaste.

Smell: Lovely lemon and camomile aroma.

Colour: Bright amber, cloudy.

Additional notes: I needed to experiment with this brew ingredients a couple of times before I got my desired flavour.

At the beginning, I tested this brew with 15ml of freshly squeezed cloudy lemonade to 215ml camomile tea and the citrus flavour was too much. I could not detect camomile.

This seems a good ingredient match.

Stir before you drink this brew.

Camomile tea with freshly squeezed limenade (still)

Recipe:

1 bag of camomile tea

215ml hot water

15ml freshly squeezed limenade.

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add freshly squeezed limenade.

Taste: Wonderful lime and camomile flavours mixture.

Smell: Camomile with tender lime.
Colour: Bright amber.

Additional notes: I started this brew with 10ml of lime lemonade based on experience that it might be enough, but the Camomile flavour was too much making the lime flavour very weak, however, it was a pleasant brew.  I increased the lime lemonade quantity to 20ml vs 210ml of camomile tea, but the flavour was too sour, neutralizing camomile and being more unpleasant.

Camomile tea with mango juice drink

Recipe:

1 bag of camomile tea

215ml hot water

15ml mango juice drink.

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add a mango juice drink.

Taste: Tender mango with hints of camomile tea.

Smell: Pleasant mango.

Colour: Bright amber, cloudy.

Additional notes: This recipe seemed a perfect match of ingredients and quantities. However, the flavour was not as great as I expected. Mango and camomile flavours both tried to dominate the taste resulting in a weak drink.

Mango juice on its own was a wonderful drink.

Camomile tea with vanilla extract

Recipe:

1 bag of camomile tea

225ml hot water.

5ml vanilla extract.

Brewer's advice: Let the tea brew for 3 - 5 minutes and add a vanilla extract.

Taste: Tender camomile tea with hints of vanilla extract.

Smell: Lovely camomile and vanilla.

Colour: Bright amber.

Additional notes: I was not constantly happy with the flavours. I started with 1ml vanilla vs 229ml camomile tea, which had too much camomile tea flavour. I kept increasing up to 10ml of vanilla extract, which led to too much sweetness.

Finally, I concluded that 5ml vanilla extract is the best quantity to be added to camomile tea to get the sort of balanced flavour.
