Bags 5/5: Pyramidal-shaped teabags with a string and a tag at the end. I only wished they would be put into sachets individually.

Package 4/5:  The Manufacturer has used a lot of green colours and stylishly designed the package. Also, the design looks quite futuristic.

Purchased: Lidl/Shelf/Cartandale/England

Manufacturer: Mokate SA/Poland

Additional notes: Interestingly, the manufacturer has put images of the ingredients to introduce consumers to their outlook. I wish they would add an explanation of their benefits to each herb.

After its opening, the box contained a strong, almost hard tolerating herbal aroma when I opened it.

It was a surprisingly lovely brew. I enjoyed every sip of this tea, but I could not detect liquorice root at all. My experience shows that every tea that contains liquorice root, has a pleasant sweetness streaming through the drink. Besides, it seemed to me unusual that tea left my mouth watering after drinking it.

Bags 5/5: Pyramidal-shaped teabags with a string and a tag at the end. I only wished they would be put into sachets individually.

Package 4/5:  The Manufacturer has used blue colour to make this box appear relaxing and tranquil.

Purchased: Lidl/Shelf/Cartandale/England

Manufacturer: Mokates SA/Poland

Additional notes: I could feel a strong peppermint and sweet aroma when I opened the box.

Also, it is interesting to learn that this tea contains fat and fatty acids.

The flavour was very ordinary highlighting camomile only and my conclusion was that if you want to get good tea to promote sleep – go for camomile tea. You do not need to spend a lot of money to get an exclusive tea that can promote sleep.

The manufacturer recommends the tea brew for up to 10 minutes. I assume they have meant this tea as a remedy, not as a tea for relaxation.

Interestingly, the manufacturer has put images of the ingredients to introduce consumers to their outlook. I wish they would add an explanation of their benefits to each herb.

Loyd Matcha - Japanese Green Tea Powder

Smell 3/5: Earthy

Flavour 3/5: Iron, leaves a dry aftertaste, weak

 Colour 5/5: Cloudy green

Tested (ml): 200ml hot water

Deposit: Yes

 Infused: 2g

 Caffeine-free: No

Tea type: Powder

Manufacturer's description: The turbidity of the infusion is a natural phenomenon.

Ingredients – Japanese green tea Matcha powder Bio.

Manufacturer's advice: 1 flat teaspoon, pour over 200ml of hot, but not boiling water (approximately 70 – 80 ˚C.). Mix with quick movements.

Storage: Store in a dry place. Protect from sunlight. After opening keep the packaging closed.

Wight (g): 40

Price (£): 3.59

Price per 1kg (£): 89.50

Package 4/5:  It looks like a pretty stylish round box you can carry around.

Manufacturer: Moketa Sa/Poland

Purchased: Lidl/Shell/Carderdale/England

Additional notes: Interestingly, this tea powder has an EU/Non-EU Organic logo and an icon of Bio. I searched online for the matching symbol of Bio, but I could not find it. It is not clear what that stands for, but in general, the manufacturer has taken it seriously to raise the quality standards.

I would like to highlight a funny thing. The manufacturer has recommended using 1 flat teaspoon, but every household has different sizes of teaspoons. In this case, taking from my experience, I would recommend using 2g of powder. That would ensure that there are at least 20 cups of tea.

This is the second time in my tea-tasting experience to see that the Japanese like to produce powdered tea. It makes me conclude that it is a very popular tradition in Japan.

Taste-wise, the tea was very weak and there was not anything remarkable apart it being a powder tea. I could feel tender green tea favours and strong iron presence in flavour. Maybe I need to increase the dosage of green tea powder to 3g or 4g per cap.

Overall, I would recommend other people go for traditional green tea bags. They are cheaper.

I did not enjoyed the strong iron presence.

Loyd Pure Green Tea

Smell 4/5:  Sweet with tender tones of dry straw.

Flavour 4/5: Bitter with dry straw aftertaste and short lasting bitterness. The mouth gets tenderly dry. Dirking the tea with big sips it causes the mouth to go watery.

 Colour 3/5: Bright amber, cloudy

Tested (ml): 200ml hot water

 Deposit: Yes

 Infused: 5min

 Caffeine-free: No

Tea type: Bags

Ingredients – green tea from  China.

Manufacturer's advice: Add 1 tea bag to a cap. Pour over with 200ml of hot, not boiling water. Leave to infuse for 2 – 3 minutes.

Storage: Not provided.

Price (£): 1,-

Price per bag (£): 0.08

Weight: 76g

Price per 1kg (£): 13.16

Bags: Simple square-shaped bags, that are not even put in a plastic sachet.

Package 3/5: Very simple and surprisingly unattractive compared with other Loyd’s tea tea boxes. On the other hand, it is simple and pleasantly green.

Purchased:

Lidl/Shelf/Calderadle/Halifax/UK

Manufacturer: Moketas SA/Poland

Additional notes: I was shocked to see this representation of Loyd’s tea. Normally the manufacturer attempts to impress consumers by representing tea with a beautifully designed box. And – the bags were so simple. I wanted to know where the pyramidal-shaped bags were and if Loyd’s tea's real manufacturer made this tea.

Also, it surprised me that the manufacturer had not provided such a simple thing – storage(!).

The manufacturer mentioned that tea leaves come from China. In my understanding so far, the Chinese can make the most tasty green tea in the world.

The manufacturer has added an asterisk when mentioning ingredients as green tea making me wonder what is this about. Everything seems so fake here.

On the other hand, I can understand why Loyd’s has gone so low with the way they represent Pure Geen tea. They might highlight reducing on price.

I found the aroma of green tea very unusual – sweet.

I can agree with the manufacturer that this green tea will refresh touch to your daily routine. It is indeed a freshing touch to your daily routine.

This tea is a wonderful brew. I liked its strong freshness in the aftertaste. I loved that tender presence of liquorice.

Bags 4/5: The bags are pyramid-shaped appearing very stylish.  However, they have not been sealed off in separate bags as Efor tea bags. The manufacturer has almost made it perfect.
